She shook her head and licked her lips, taking a deep breath. She really hated cooking lately, th smell always bothered her.
Wolfgang sniffed and looked over at Ludwig, wiping his eyes. He wrapped his arms around the man and gave him a hug. “I’m sorry daddy.”
Ludwig pulled him into his lap, hugging him back with s kiss to the forehead, “It’s alright, kiddo. But you do need to listen when I say to not do something. You could have gotten really hurt.”
"You try brushing all of this out." She teased, pulling him down for a kiss and smiling. "It’s a lot of work I’m almost too lazy to do." She picked up the whisk, putting a bit more of the patter on the pan and letting it simmer.
"I’ll pass on brushing that bird’s nest." Ludwig said, giving her hair a little tug. "I’ll be right back." He kissed her again, moving for the living room. He sat down next to Wolfgang’s chair, "You’re done with time out."
"Put some ointment on it and wrap it up." She told him, standing next to him. "I talked to him. He seems to have calmed down. Do you want me to take over so you two can chat?"
"I guess so." Ludwig said, slipping the pancake onto a plate, letting her take control of the stove. He gently kissed her cheek, brushing his fingers through her hair through they got stuck halfway through. "You might want to do another run through there, babe."
Feliciano explained to him (in a much calmer fashion) that Wolfgang was too little to use the stove and shouldn’t have done it without her or Ludwig with him. She told him that he would have hurt himself like Daddy had. Wolfgang was going to have to apologize, but first she made him sit in the time out chair facing the wall.
She told Amelia not to stare, and then went back into the kitchen, wrapping her arms around Ludwig’s waist and kissing his cheek, her belly making it a bit hard. “Your hand okay?”
Ludwig looked back at her over his shoulder, giving a little nod, “I’ll be fine. I don’t think it’ll blister.” He held out his hand, looking at the reddened spot over his palm. “We’ll see later, I guess.”
Wolfgang latched onto Feli’s leg and she gestured him back into the living room. She tapped Amlia on the head. “Turn around.” She said, sitting on the edge of the couch and bringing Wolfgang in front of her to talk to him for a moment about his behavior.
Amelia twisted in her seat, watching her brother carefully, wondering if he was going to get into even more trouble.
Ludwig turned the burner back on, flipping the half cooked pancake on the pan. He sighed heavily, just wanting to get it finished with so they could eat.
Wolfgang cried, rubbing at his eyes and nodding once as he took deep breaths to calm himself down. “Y-yes sir.” He sniffled, then looked over to Feli and reached his arms out as if she would rescue him.
"Feliciano, will you please take him into the living room?" He asked, grabbing Wolfgang around the waist to set him down on the floor. "I’ll call you when breakfast is ready." Ludwig grabbed a towel to wipe off his reddened palm, hoping it wouldn’t blister.
Amelia watched cautiously from the couch, peeking her eyes over the back of it.
Wolfgang clung to his leg even after being yelled at, until Feli came over and gripped th top of his arm, pulling away from Ludwig. “Come on,” Feli said, pulling him from the man, though Wolfgang struggled against his mother’s hold, pulling hr down with him as he pitched his fit.
Ludwig sighed heavily, reaching over to turn off the stove and grabbed his son by the arm, pulling him up to sit on the counter. Ludwig glared down at him, his hand still under the running water, “Enough with the crying, Wolfgang. I’ve had enough of your behavior this morning. I did not raise you to be this way. If you aren’t going to listen to me then you will sit in your room until you’ve learned. Do you understand me?”
"But daddy!" He whined, getting up off the couch and running after Ludwig. Feli tried to catch the boy, but she wasn’t much help when they ran like that. "I’m sorry Daddy! I want to make pancakes!" He said, crashing into the back of Ludwig’s knees.
Ludwig jerked forward, knees hitting the oven door, his hand grabbing the stove top for balance. He yelped, pulling his hand away as he shook it, having burnt it on the hot metal. “Wolfgang! Do as your told!” He scolded, sidestepping towards the sink to run his hand under cold water.
"But I want to help!" He whined, eyes watering. "Daddy I want to help!"
"No, you stay in the living room until I’m finished." Ludwig said, setting him down on the couch before moving back into the kitchen. He moved back to the stove, pouring a bit of the mixture into the hot pan.
"I was being careful!" Wolfgang protested, pouting with the look he learned from his mother. "I wanted to do it."
"I know you wanted to but I told you to not go near the oven." Ludwig took the bowl from him, setting it down on the counter and put Wolfgang on the floor, "Go play with your sister while I finish breakfast."
"No!!" Wolfgsng cried, stomping his foot. "I want to make breakfast with you !"
"Well, if you can’t listen to me then you can’t help." Ludwig said, shooing him off into the living room. "Now stop with the fit and go play. I’ll call you when it’s ready."
